Dallas Cowboys Radio Network analyst Babe Laufenberg joins Mike Doocy to discuss the release of Tony Romo.
Babe Laufenberg, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, answered questions from readers in a live chat Tuesday. Here are the highlights:
Q: I think all Cowboys fans are excited about next year. Do you see any danger ahead that we don’t see?
Laufenberg: Complacency. The thought that we went 13-3 last year, so this year will be even better. It was once said that “if you move even one grain of sand, the world will never be the same.” Well, there are truckloads of sand that are moved year-to-year in the NFL. So you will see Dak and Zeke and the offensive line and think it is the same team, but it won’t be. Each year a football team creates its own identity. It starts in the offseason, continues through training camp and is constantly evolving once the season begins. But you certainly have to like the foundation on which this team has been built.
Babe Laufenberg, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, answered your questions about the team during a live chat Tuesday. Here are some of the highlights:
Q: Is there any blueprint to follow on the Patriots’ player strategy? They gave up two of their best defensive players in trades during the year, most of their D backfield, RBs and receivers are cast-offs from other teams, and yet they still won the SB. How does that happen??
Laufenberg: That happens because Tom Brady happens. Who is widely regarded as the best coach in college football? Nick Saban. NFL? Bill Belichick. Saban was Belichick’s defensive coordinator for four years with the Cleveland Browns. They had three losing seasons and never won a playoff game. Look at the Belichick coaching and front office tree. Without naming names for the sake of brevity, mostly abysmal failures. So everyone wants to get a hold of “The Patriot Way,” but unless you are bringing No. 12 with you, forget it.
